Quick start

Learn ordinary attacks and jumping before trying long command sequences.
Open the treasure menu and select an available item.
Use the chosen treasure when there is space to observe its effect.
Build energy for stronger techniques and reserve the health-costing emergency attack for danger.

Controls

For the directly documented original edition: joystick moves; A attacks; B jumps; C opens the treasure menu; D uses the selected treasure. A+B is an emergency attack that costs health. Conditions for advanced techniques require their individual move entries.

Oriental Legend Super / Xiyou Shi E Zhuan Super (ver. 101, Korean Board) — About this game

Oriental Legend Super combines direct attacks with an inventory of treasures and charged techniques. The basic attack and jump are only part of the system: a separate menu selects a treasure, and another action uses it. Building energy opens techniques with different resource requirements, so spending a stored charge immediately is not always the best choice. An emergency attack can create space but costs health. Begin with simple movement and ordinary attacks, then practice selecting and using a treasure before relying on the more elaborate commands. This description covers the directly documented version rather than assuming every later revision has identical special-move conditions.
