- Pass to a better-positioned teammate before forcing a shot.
- Use Turbo for a short approach or recovery.

2 On 2 Open Ice Challenge (rev 1.2A) — About this game
NHL Open Ice compresses hockey into a fast two-on-two contest with licensed NHL players and teams. Passing, shooting and stealing keep the puck moving through frequent changes of possession, while Turbo gives an extra burst for an approach or recovery. The attack buttons change meaning when defending: the shot action becomes a block and the pass action becomes a steal. Its exaggerated presentation includes flaming-puck On-Fire moments and commentary from Pat Foley. Learn to pass out of pressure before repeatedly shooting from a crowded position, and remember that the arcade roster differs from the later PlayStation and Windows conversions.
