How to Play Pocket Fighter (Japan 970904)
Quick start
- Learn Punch, Kick and Special with the selected fighter.
- Start a Flash Combo with Punch and time further Punch/Kick inputs.
- Collect gems to improve the corresponding special-move gauge.
- Use Kick + Special to throw a held orb when its effect is useful.
Controls
The three base actions are Punch, Kick and Special. Punch + Kick throws or grapples nearby and also recovers when knocked into the air. Kick + Special throws a held orb. Special can be charged for a guard-crushing hit that drops more gems. Punch followed by timed Punch/Kick inputs creates a Flash Combo. Punch + Kick + Special performs Mega Crush only with gauge stock, consuming all gems and stocks.

Pocket Fighter (Japan 970904) makes a small three-button fight into a search for gems and usable orbs. Gems improve the fighter’s special-move gauges, while a held orb supplies an item attack. A charged guard-crushing strike knocks more gems from the opponent, and timed Punch/Kick choices continue a Flash Combo with different transformations. Mega Crush supplies an emergency response but consumes the collected gems and stored gauge. Learn an ordinary combo before spending those resources, then choose which upgrade or item effect makes the next opening more useful.
