How to Play The Great Ragtime Show (Japan v1.3, 92.11.26)
Quick start
- Clear the way with shots and look for objects the hook can catch.
- Use movement to swing a caught object into enemies.
- Line up the throw and press Hook to release the object.
- Avoid overheating with excessive electric fire and find another ride if you lose the plane.
Controls
Use the eight-way joystick and the Shot and Hook buttons. The hook swings with your movement’s momentum and can swing caught objects. Press Hook to throw a towed object. Repeated shots build up to electric fire, but overheating makes it unavailable for a while.
The Great Ragtime Show (Japan v1.3, 92.11.26) — About this game
A hook on the biplane’s tail catches objects to swing or throw at enemies. Alongside ordinary shots, you can turn enemy aircraft and scenery into weapons, with your movement’s momentum shaping each swing. Repeated firing raises a gauge to unleash wide electric attacks, but too much fire causes overheating, so alternate your attacks. Even after the biplane is destroyed, its pilot can keep going and find another ride, including cars or animals. Ragtime music accompanies the search for the next useful object or vehicle.
