How to Play Rampart (Joystick, smaller ROMs)
Quick start
- Place the available cannons inside the initial wall.
- Aim ahead of a moving ship.
- During rebuilding, rotate pieces to close the gaps.
- Finish with at least one castle fully surrounded.
Controls
Move the cursor with the trackball and place or rotate the supplied wall pieces during rebuilding. In combat, aim the crosshair and fire the cannons; lead moving ships because the cannonballs travel slowly.

Rampart (Joystick, smaller ROMs) alternates cannon battles with timed repairs to the walls around castles. A fully enclosed castle secures territory and supports the next cannon placement, while a gap can surrender both land and the guns inside it. The repair phase supplies rotating geometric pieces whose spare blocks can obstruct later repairs. Single-player defence targets approaching ships; multiplayer turns that same damage-and-rebuilding cycle against rival territories.
