Rough Racer (Japan, Floppy Based, FD1094 317-0058-06b) sends four cars around compact tracks while disruptive Bandit Racers interfere with the contest. Finishing third or better keeps the run progressing, and prize money can buy equipment such as better tyres or protection. Nitro provides more than extra speed: a boosted impact can knock a rival or a bandit aside, with destroyed bandits leaving coins. Later tracks also hide shortcuts behind brick walls. Judging when to spend the boost matters because the next obstruction may be an opportunity as well as a hazard.
