How to Play Super Contra (set 2)
Quick start
- Move and fire through the stage.
- In side-view sections, use Jump with Up or Down to change jump height.
- Collect another copy of the current weapon to strengthen it.
- In overhead sections, use the jump action to launch a stocked hyper shell.
Controls
Joystick: move and aim. Fire: shoot. Jump: leap during side-view sections; Up or Down modifies the jump. In overhead stages the same action launches a collected hyper shell.
Super Contra (set 2) — About this game
Super Contra (set 2) alternates side-scrolling combat with overhead stages that allow movement in eight directions. Collecting a weapon replaces the ordinary gun, and taking the same upgrade again increases its destructive power. During the side-view sections, joystick direction modifies jump height; overhead, the jump action instead uses a collected hyper shell against the enemies on screen. The change of perspective therefore brings a change in how the two controls solve the next obstacle or formation.
