How to Play Shogun Warriors (US)
Quick start
- Choose a fighter and compare weak and strong normal attacks.
- Learn a reliable approach before moving into grabbing distance.
- When holding an opponent, work the joystick left and right.
- When grabbed, rapidly press attack buttons to improve your chance of escape.
Controls
Use the eight-way joystick and the four attack buttons: weak punch, strong punch, weak kick and strong kick. During a grab, the attacker moves the joystick left and right; the defender rapidly presses attack buttons to escape. Button numbering still needs the exact driver layout, so no keyboard mapping is assigned.

Shogun Warriors (US) gives its head-to-head battles an additional contest whenever a grab connects. The attacker works the joystick from side to side to maintain the hold, while the trapped fighter rapidly presses attack buttons to improve the chance of escaping. Outside that struggle, weak and strong punches and kicks form the basic four-button fighting layout. Learn when a close approach is worth the risk, then combine ordinary attacks with the selected character's individual moves as the tournament leads toward its final opponents.
