SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter (Japan) takes Sonic into space to recover his friends from Doctor Eggman. The view follows his craft from above as enemies approach along the patrol route. Separate actions select a weapon and fire it, letting the player change the attack being used while continuing to steer. The original attraction combines the screen with a moving ride cabinet. Reaching and defeating Eggman in his large spaceship completes the rescue encounter and rewards Sonic with a ship upgrade.
