How to Play Spelunker
Quick start
- Begin the descent and note the energy meter.
- Use the elevator, ropes and ladders to reach the next chamber.
- Collect blue vials before energy runs low.
- Use dynamite at a blocking obstacle and avoid waiting in one place.
Controls
Move through the cave with the directional control. Jump and Shoot are separate arcade actions. Ropes, ladders and lifts form the route; dynamite is used at particular obstacles.
Spelunker — About this game
Spelunker’s arcade cave expedition asks the player to keep moving downward while watching a steadily draining energy supply. Blue vials restore that energy, making them part of route planning rather than optional treasure. Elevators, ropes and ladders connect the chambers, while dynamite removes particular obstacles and enemies interrupt a safe descent. Waiting too long invites a ghost, adding pressure to explore instead of remaining in one place. The cave’s treasure gives a reason to make a detour, but a worthwhile collection route still needs enough time and energy to reach the next safe section.
