How to Play Super Punch-Out!! (Japan)
Quick start
- Watch the opponent’s eyes and wind-up.
- Block or dodge the signalled strike.
- Answer with left and right punches.
- Use the strong punch when the KO meter is full.
Controls
Use separate Left Punch and Right Punch buttons. The strong-punch button works when the KO meter is full. Move the joystick to change guard or dodge sideways. Duck is a distinct control: the original cabinet activates it by physically pulling the joystick upward from the panel.
Super Punch-Out!! (Japan) — About this game
Super Punch-Out!! (Japan) adds ducking to the wire-frame boxer’s timed contests against five champions. Opponents signal attacks through their expressions and movements, asking for a block, sideways dodge or duck before the counterpunch. Successful punches build the KO meter for a stronger blow. Winning the title starts another defence against faster, harder versions of the same five fighters.
