Controls

Total Carnage (prototype, proto v 2.0 02/10/92) is an exact registered version in this game family. Total Carnage takes twin-stick shooting through scrolling battlefields toward General Akhboob’s base. Movement and fire use separate sticks, allowing a retreat to keep its gun pointed at the pursuing mutants. Captured prisoners wait along the route, while large enemy vehicles change a crowded infantry fight into a different target. Collected bombs can be placed to clear another threat. Learn a clean sideways escape before crossing toward a prisoner, then leave enough room to react when the scrolling field reveals a vehicle or the next stage boss. Version-specific changes to characters, stages, timing, difficulty, balance, graphics or hidden content are not inferred where the registration does not document them.
