Quick start
- Select a boxer.
- Hold a punch button to guard.
- Release it to strike.
- Compare the normal straight, upward uppercut and downward body attack.
Controls
Use light, medium and heavy Punch buttons. Hold a Punch button to guard and release it to attack; direction selects the punch type. With the boxer facing right, Up+release gives an uppercut and Down+release a body uppercut. Move away to defend or sway. Kanou’s Stardust Upper uses Down, Down-Forward, Forward+Medium Punch.

Top Ranking Stars opens an all-weight boxing tournament to six fighters with different strengths. Three punch weights combine with directional stance changes to produce jabs, straights, hooks, uppercuts and body blows. Holding a punch button guards before releasing the selected punch. Opponents can be beaten by knockout or technical knockout, while special commands give each fighter another way to break the exchange.
