Vanguard II — About this game
Vanguard II lets its fighter explore around a floating enemy platform instead of following a fixed tunnel. The main gun deals with defending aircraft, while a separate missile attack reaches the power pods below using the aiming crosshair. Destroying enough pods exposes the central target, which can then be bombed to end the stage. That sequence makes circling the platform useful: the next air threat and the next ground target may lie in different directions, and each has to be answered with the appropriate weapon.
