How to Play Vanguard (Centuri)
Quick start
- Learn movement and each of the four firing directions.
- Destroy enemies to restore the draining fuel supply.
- Use an energy pod’s protection while keeping track of its end warning.
- At the boss, fire through the moving force-field gaps.
Controls
Movement and firing are separate. Four fire buttons shoot up, down, left and right independently. An energy pod temporarily makes the ship invulnerable and permits ramming enemies or tunnel walls.
Vanguard (Centuri) — About this game
Vanguard (Centuri) sends a ship through tunnel zones that change the scrolling direction between horizontal, vertical and diagonal movement. Four firing controls aim independently up, down, left or right, giving a way to answer a side attack without steering into it. Fuel drains during flight but is restored by destroying enemies. An energy pod temporarily protects the ship enough to ram enemies or tunnel walls, with a warning before the effect ends. Each tunnel closes with a guarded boss, requiring fire through moving gaps. Learn the independent shooting directions before the next zone changes the apparent forward route.
