How to Play Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers Revenge (Japan 970913)

Quick start

Learn the chosen monster’s ordinary attacks and dash.
Use a chain only when the first hit connects.
Build two Special Stocks before Dark Force.
Activate it with a matching-strength Punch + Kick and watch its timer.

Controls

The six attacks are Light, Medium and Heavy Punch and Light, Medium and Heavy Kick. Double-tap forward or backward to dash. Repeated attack inputs while blocking produce Advancing Guard, except for Anakaris. With a Special Stock, enter a special move using two buttons of its punch or kick type to perform an ES move; EX techniques have their own commands and stock costs. Dark Force requires two stocks and uses a same-strength Punch + Kick input. Some characters gain aerial chain options only while Dark Force is active.

Vampire Hunter 2 combines the returning Night Warriors cast with battle systems derived from Vampire Savior. Pyron, Donovan and Huitzil return to the lineup, while several of Savior's newer characters are absent. The double-health-bar structure changes the flow of a confrontation, so winning an exchange is part of a longer contest rather than an isolated moment. Choose a monster fighter and learn how its individual reach and move set fit that system before trying to carry the same approach across every matchup.
