How to Play Xevious (Atari, Namco PCB)
Quick start
- Fire the Zapper at airborne threats.
- Align the forward reticle over a ground target.
- Use the Blaster to bomb that position.
- Watch aerial attacks while approaching the next installation.
Controls
The Zapper shoots flying targets ahead of the Solvalou. The Blaster bombs the ground position indicated by the reticle in front of the ship. Move the craft to position that reticle as well as to avoid attacks.
Xevious (Atari, Namco PCB) — About this game
Xevious (Atari, Namco PCB) separates the Solvalou’s targets into air and ground. The forward Zapper hits flying enemies, while the Blaster attacks beneath the reticle ahead of the craft. Ground installations can therefore remain dangerous even when the forward firing line is clear. The Andor Genesis mothership adds protected firing points around its centre, and hidden ground features can be revealed by carefully placed bombs. Learn the offset between the craft and its reticle before lining up a ground target, then keep watching the airborne enemies while the bombing position approaches.
