How to Play Astro Boy: The Video Game
Quick start
Begin stage 1-1 in Metro City. Move forward and use Y punches against the first robots. When a red lock stops the route, defeat the nearby enemies until it turns green. Use B to jump over hazards, collect useful energy and continue. The following flying stage uses movement and shooting rather than the same ground-fighting rhythm.
Controls
DS: D-pad moves, Y punches, X kicks and B jumps. L/R highlights a special ability and A uses the selected ability; the touch screen duplicates special-ability controls. In flying shooting stages, move with the D-pad and fire with Y. Check the available energy before spending a special ability.
Astro Boy: The Video Game — About this game
The DS adaptation of the Astro Boy film alternates side-scrolling combat with airborne shooting. On the ground, Astro punches and kicks robots, jumps across hazards and clears groups that block the route. Flight stages shift the focus to dodging and firing while moving through the screen. Energy orbs support special abilities, so collecting them affects what you can use in a difficult encounter. The opening Metro City stage uses red and green locks to show whether enemies still prevent progress. Switching between close combat, careful movement and temporary powers is the central rhythm of this film adventure.
