How to Play Atari Greatest Hits: Volume 1
Quick start
Choose a game from the collection rather than looking for a shared campaign. Pong is a useful first stop for trying the touch slider. Before a 2600 game, check its variation and difficulty settings; open the original manuals in the extras when you need its rules.
Controls
Controls depend on the selected game. Pong offers a stylus-operated slider, Lunar Lander a touch throttle, and 2600 games use the D-pad and action buttons with virtual console switches on the lower screen. Use each game's control options; a single button map does not cover the whole collection.
Atari Greatest Hits: Volume 1 — About this game
Volume 1 gathers a different slice of Atari history from its sequel, mixing arcade games with home-console releases. Jump between the drifting battles of Asteroids, Pong's rallies and the rooms of Adventure, then browse original manuals and cabinet artwork. Some arcade games offer touch-screen substitutes for their specialised controls, while 2600 games display a virtual console with its own switches. This is a collection of separate games with distinct rules, so learning the selected title is part of the experience.
