How to Play Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

Quick start

Move with the D-Pad and use A for deliberate, centred stomps; touching a tomato from the side causes damage, and large ones may split after the first hit. Hold B with Left or Right in special areas to dash, and press B during a jump for extra distance. If a room appears to loop, look for a ladder or press Up/Down near a corner or background passage. Collect lunch bags to refill energy and lunch boxes for spare lives. Do not skip story interludes near the end, because the walkthrough warns that doing so can bypass the true final stage and ending.

Controls

D-Pad Left/Right moves Chad; Up/Down enters routes, climbs or turns through special background sections. A jumps. B throws rocks in fights; held with Left/Right it runs faster in special areas, pressed during a jump it increases distance, and held while climbing it increases speed. Start begins and pauses. Select+B turns background music off. Most ordinary enemies are attacked by landing on them.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes — About this game

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is an NES platform adventure based on the animated series. Chad explores the streets of San Zucchini, its sewers and an abandoned packing factory before entering Dr. Gangrene's hideout. Most mutant tomatoes are defeated by a precise stomp, and larger specimens can split into smaller threats, while certain fight scenes let Chad throw rocks. The route is less linear than a typical platform game: ladders, background passages and gravity-changing panels create large looping areas. Lunch bags restore energy, lunch boxes award lives, and fertiliser sacks add points on the way to the Doomsday Tomato controls.
