How to Play Backyard Baseball 2006
Quick start
Press START to reach the Main Menu, choose PICK-UP GAME, set the rules, teams, field, players, and strategy, then press START whenever Quick Start is offered to enter a game with preselected teams. Choose SEASON PLAY instead for tracked standings and playoffs. Before each pitch, match the pitcher’s stamina and available power-up to the situation rather than spending special pitches immediately.
Controls
Menus: D-Pad highlights, A accepts, B goes back, START jumps to play, and SELECT changes player sorting. Pitching: D-Pad selects/aims, A chooses and throws, B cancels, L/R change infield/outfield defense, R+D-Pad attempts a pickoff, SELECT toggles Pitch Indicator. Fielding: D-Pad moves, B changes fielder, D-Pad+R dives, L jumps, A throws (with direction for bases). Batting: D-Pad chooses hit/stance, A selects and swings, B cancels, R+D-Pad steals, L+D-Pad leads off. Running combines a base direction with A to advance, B to return, or R to slide. START pauses.
