How to Play Backyard Football '09
Quick start
Open Practice and choose a simple passing play. Snap the ball, locate a receiver's B, L or R label and send one pass before trying a running play. For a match, Play Now asks for difficulty and prepares teams and a field; Single-Player lets you select the participants.
Controls
Move with the D-pad. Before the play, A snaps the ball; with the quarterback holding it, B, L and R pass to the matching receiver. Hold A to use limited turbo while running. On defence, B changes to the player nearest the ball and R tackles. For a kick, press A to set direction, then A again for power. START pauses. Touch controls also let you drag to move and tap receivers to pass.
Backyard Football '09 — About this game
Backyard Football '09 turns American football into short neighbourhood contests with child versions of NFL players alongside the Backyard cast. The DS playbook supplies running and passing choices, while receiver labels connect each pass to a specific button. Defence asks you to change to the useful player and close down the ball carrier. Practice isolates plays without the normal match pressure; Play Now prepares a quick contest, and the season gives a longer route toward a title and unlocks.
