How to Play Banana

Quick start

Select the surface using the title and move the mole using the cross keys to dig the soil. First, check the locations of the exit, girl, food, and ladder, and collect them in the order that will not erase the way back. Open the item you have with SELECT, and after selecting it, press A+ direction to use it. While strengthening by collecting 3 single bananas, you can turn the adjacent rock into a brick by pressing the B+ direction.

Controls

Cross key: Move/dig soil. SELECT: Item selection screen. A + D-pad: Use the selected item in the specified direction. Enhanced B + cross key: Changes rocks in the specified direction to bricks. A+B: Self-destruct and redo the surface.

Banana — About this game

"Banana" is a one-screen puzzle game for the Famicom in which you move a mole and dig underground. Collect all the food on each side, save the girl, and then enter the door to clear the stage. The key is to have a sequential design that doesn't create dead ends, as the dirt you dig is lost as footholds and you need a ladder to get back up. We aim to conquer all 105 stages with as few steps as possible by utilizing items obtained from bunches of bananas, strengthening with 3 individual bananas, and the ability to turn rocks into bricks.
