How to Play Bangai-O Spirits
Quick start
Choose Tutorial Mode and begin Give it a Try! Practice movement with the D-pad, then move into the upper half and destroy the marked cannon with B, X or Y. In Using Shots, defeat all seven cannons and compare automatic aim with starting fire while holding a direction. Continue the tutorial before attempting the denser Free Play stages.
Controls
DS: D-pad moves and sets attack direction; A boost-dashes. B fires the second normal weapon, X/Y the first, or either fires a mixed pair. X+B or Y+B toggles compatible normal mixing. Hold L/R to charge EX and release to fire; L+R toggles compatible EX mixing. START pauses; SELECT enters/exits Edit Mode, where the stylus is used.

Bangai-O Spirits combines frantic shooting with compact stages that often demand a particular weapon or route. You can equip normal and EX weapons, mix compatible pairs and use reflected or bouncing fire to reach awkward targets. A charged EX attack grows stronger when enemy shots crowd close, turning danger into a chance for a huge response. Fruit pickups replenish resources and keep the cycle moving. The DS game offers separate stages rather than a long continuous journey, plus an editor for building new arrangements. Its tutorial introduces movement, aim locking and boosters before asking you to manage the more crowded battles.
