How to Play Batman: The Video Game
Quick start
Use the opening rooms to learn wall jumping: jump into a wall, keep the D-pad toward it and press A at contact to rebound. Tap A for a low jump or hold it for more height. Leave the free punch selected for nearby enemies and spend pellets on ranged weapons only when their reach makes a section safer. Hearts restore life; pellet pickups refill weapon ammunition. Watch one enemy cycle before committing to a narrow landing.
Controls
Left/right moves Batman and down crouches. A jumps; pressing A while touching a wall, with the D-pad toward that wall, performs a wall jump. B attacks with the selected punch or optional weapon. START cycles punch, Batarang, spear gun and dirk. SELECT pauses. The three optional weapons consume one, two or three pellets per use, so they cannot fire without ammunition.
Batman: The Video Game — About this game
Sunsoft's Batman is a demanding NES action platformer loosely following the 1989 film. Batman crosses Gotham's streets, the Axis Chemical Factory, sewers, laboratories and the cathedral while fighting machines and the Joker's henchmen. His punch costs nothing, while the Batarang, spear gun and dirk consume ammunition at different rates. The signature wall jump is essential for vertical shafts and later obstacle patterns. Five stages, each broken into areas and capped by a boss, lead to the final confrontation.
