How to Play Beetlejuice
Quick start
In the first town screens, learn which doors can be entered and stomp small beetles to protect or restore your limited health. Collect keys before pushing into new areas, and spend money on scares rather than trying to brute-force every hazard. Check the scare screen before a difficult room so the needed power is ready to use.
Controls
In side view, Left/Right moves, Up enters a building, and Down leaves it. A jumps, B stomps beetles, and Down+A drops through or jumps down where allowed. Start pauses and opens the scares display. There, Up/Down cycles scares, A or B selects one, and B activates the chosen scare during play.
Beetlejuice — About this game
Beetlejuice for NES is a side-view action adventure loosely based on the film and animated series. The title character travels through connected areas, enters buildings, collects keys and other required items, and buys supernatural scares for use against enemies and obstacles. Health is limited to three hits but can be recovered through the bug-stomping system. Progress eventually moves from the town and sewers into the Deetz residence, Neitherworld, and the Afterlife.
