How to Play Bionic Commando
Quick start
Practice firing the arm diagonally, swinging with Left or Right, and releasing near the top of the arc before pushing deeper into Area 1. Collect bullets dropped by enemies to raise your maximum health. Before each descent, match the communicator to the area; if progress stalls, revisit a communications room or inspect the route map instead of searching for a jump command.
Controls
In side-view areas, the D-pad moves and crouches, A fires the bionic arm, B shoots, Start uses the equipped special item, and Select opens the subscreen and pauses. Neutral+A grapples diagonally, Up+A grapples overhead, and Left/Right+A extends horizontally. In overhead encounters, the D-pad moves in eight directions, A swings the arm, and B fires.
Bionic Commando — About this game
Bionic Commando is an NES action adventure that replaces ordinary jumping with a versatile grappling arm. From a route map, the player moves by helicopter between numbered areas, chooses a weapon, armor, special item, and communicator, then descends into a base. Rad Spencer can fire, crouch, grapple in three directions, swing across gaps, and pull himself toward platforms while searching communications rooms for clues to the missing Super Joe.
