How to Play Harvest Moon 3 GBC
Quick start
Press START at the title, choose Start, then choose the boy or girl and complete the character, pet and partner settings. Follow the farm introduction and speak with your partner. Use SELECT to open the notebook and equip tools or seeds. Start with a small set of duties suited to your route: crops for the boy or animal care for the girl. Save through File in the notebook before stopping.
Controls
D-pad: move and select options. A: talk, confirm and use an equipped tool or seeds. Hold B while moving to run; B also cancels menus or stores a held item in the rucksack. SELECT opens the system notebook, where you equip tools and seeds and use File to save. START displays the date, time and current tool.

In the boy route you focus on crops while the girl partner handles animals; the girl route reverses those roles. Tool selection and inventory are managed through a system notebook, and the farm expands through regular work and sales. Marriage also has a specific route difference: marrying as the girl ends that game, while the boy can continue after marriage. Keep that distinction in mind when choosing how you want the farm story to develop.
