How to Play Break Time: The National Pool Tour

Quick start

Begin in practice or a single 8-ball game. Use the table view to identify the easiest legal object ball and its next position. Set the direction cursor first, switch to the shooting cursor, choose cue contact for spin only when needed, then stop the power indicator conservatively. Avoid maximum power on routine shots; leaving the cue ball near the centre with a clear next angle is usually more valuable than sinking one difficult ball.

Controls

D-Pad moves menu, direction and cue-position cursors. SELECT moves the menu cursor. A selects options, controls the shooting cursor, sets shot power and advances messages. B switches between direction and shooting cursors, cancels shot power and returns toward the main menu. START begins play; during direction or spin setup, press START and then START again within the prompt to abandon the current game.

Break Time: The National Pool Tour — About this game

Break Time: The National Pool Tour is a late NES billiards simulation offering 8-ball, 9-ball, Rotation and 14.1 Continuous rules. The main tour sends the player through five cities against increasingly capable professionals, while other modes support individual matches and practice. Each turn separates planning into table view, direction, cue contact and shot power, allowing position play rather than merely aiming at the nearest ball. Players can inspect the layout, move the cue ball when the rules allow, add English and choose a controlled safety instead of forcing a pot. Digitised commentary and persistent tournament progress frame the deliberate pace, but success depends on planning where the cue ball will stop for the next shot.
