How to Play BreakThru

Quick start

Select one player and use the first mountain stretch to learn speed control. Do not hold maximum speed constantly: slow down when enemy fire fills the road, then accelerate before a rock barrier that must be cleared. Jump early over mines and gaps, and use D-Pad input during the jump to help the landing. Fire continuously only when threats are present so that watching the terrain remains the priority.

Controls

D-Pad Up/Down assists vertical jump movement; Left slows the vehicle and Right speeds it up. A shoots. B jumps. SELECT moves between one- and two-player options. START begins and pauses; in two-player mode the second controller starts the second player's turn as documented. Multiplayer is alternating.

BreakThru — About this game

BreakThru puts the player in an armed all-terrain vehicle pursuing the stolen PK430 fighter through mountains, a bridge, prairie, city and enemy airfield. The buggy scrolls continuously into soldiers, jeeps, tanks, helicopters, mines and roadblocks. Speed is under direct control: slowing creates time to read a formation, accelerating clears some fallen-rock obstacles, and vertical input helps shape a jump. Shooting removes enemies in front or above, while jumping is essential for mines, gaps and barricades. Two-player mode alternates turns rather than placing both vehicles on screen. Every area demands a different balance between speed and survival, culminating in the attempt to reach and reclaim the aircraft.
