How to Play Bump 'n' Jump
Quick start
Press Start, accelerate with Up, and practice an A-button jump once the speed reaches 150 km/h. Watch the road ahead and steer toward a safe landing rather than jumping whenever an enemy appears. The warning sign signals an approaching hazard. Collect P barrels to replenish power and avoid sand, concrete, and road edges. Use Down or B when you need more control, but regain jumping speed before a gap.
Controls
D-pad Left/Right: steer, including adjustment in the air. Up: accelerate. Down: slow down. A: jump when speed is at least 150 km/h and power remains. B: emergency brake. Start: begin or pause/resume. Select: unused during normal play.
Bump 'n' Jump — About this game
Buggy Popper is the Japanese Famicom release later localized as Bump 'n' Jump. This NES driving action game rewards survival rather than finishing position. You can shove rival vehicles aside or land on them, but roadside hazards and gaps can end a run quickly. Jumping requires at least 150 km/h and remaining power, so braking and fuel collection matter as much as aggression. Trucks leave dangerous material behind, while P barrels replenish energy. Sixteen courses cross four environments. The Famicom release is titled Buggy Popper; the American release uses Bump 'n' Jump. This guide concerns that home-console game, whose course and fuel systems should not be confused with the older arcade release.
