How to Play Carcassonne

Quick start

Begin a match with the basic rules. Rotate the drawn tile until its edges fit, place it beside the landscape and decide whether to add a follower. End the turn and watch the scoring when a feature closes.

Controls

Use the touch interface to select the tile, rotate it with the displayed option and choose a valid position. Select a follower position if wanted, then confirm the turn. Check both the tile edges and which features are already occupied.

Carcassonne — About this game

Carcassonne adapts the tile-laying board game to DS. Each turn adds a landscape tile whose edges must fit the roads, cities and fields already on the table. After placing it, decide whether to commit a limited follower to a feature or save one for later. Completed features return followers and score points; fields require longer planning toward the end. A tempting city is less useful if you cannot finish it or have no follower left to claim another opportunity. Start with small roads and a monastery to see how neighbouring tiles change the value of a placement.
