How to Play Caveman Games
Quick start
Choose Practice to learn one event or Start the Games for the full sequence. Gronk is a forgiving first character. Read each event's prompt: racing usually uses rapid A and B to jump, Fire Making alternates rapid A with Up/Down breathing, and Dino Vault requires rapid A followed by holding and releasing B at the correct pole angle.
Controls
Menus — D-pad: choose options; A: confirm; START: pause; while paused SELECT restarts the event. Event controls vary: rapid A commonly builds speed; B jumps or performs the event action. Fire Making uses rapid A for sparks, Up to inhale, Down to blow or duck, and B to strike the rival. Consult the manual for all six event-specific sequences.
Caveman Games — About this game
Caveman Games is an NES party-sports collection built around six Stone Age events: Mate Toss, Fire Making, Dino Race, Saber Race, Clubbing, and Dino Vault. Each contest uses a different combination of rapid A presses, directional rhythms, jumps, grabs, attacks, or precisely timed releases. Players can practice individual events or enter the full competition, and up to six participants alternate attempts. Character strengths differ, making event choice and technique more important than simple button mashing.
