Quick start
Choose a standard game, your color and a comfortable opponent level. Inspect the board, select a piece and check its destination before making the opening move.
Controls
Use the DS point-and-select board interface to choose a piece and destination. Set match options through the menus and follow the displayed controls when viewing puzzles or games.
Chess — About this game
This DS Chess edition presents the board in overhead and three-dimensional views. Choose a side and an appropriate computer level, then consider the whole position before selecting a move. The package also offers chess puzzles and historic games to study, so a short session can focus on one tactical position instead of a full match. Begin with ordinary chess before changing optional setups. Develop pieces, protect the king and check the opponent's reply; a legal destination is only the beginning of deciding whether a move is safe.
