How to Play Chester Field: Ankoku Shin e no Chousen
Quick start
Jump with A, attack with B, and first check the entrance and foothold on the ground. In the labyrinth, make a quick note of branches, stairs, and passages you can't return to, collect treasure chests, and then head to the boss. Open the menu with SELECT, select the item you want to use, and then press START to activate it. Red and yellow potions have different recovery amounts, so avoid wasting strong recovery when the damage is small.
Controls
Use the cross keys to move left and right, go up and down ladders, and select menus. A is a jump, B is an attack with a sword. Open the item menu with SELECT and use the selected item with START. The labyrinth has loops and one-way streets, so it is important to record not only the operations but also the direction in which you pass.

"Chesterfield: Challenge to the Dark Gods" is an action RPG for the Famicom that combines side-scrolling terrain and complex labyrinth exploration. The main character, Kane, sets out on a journey to regain the kingdom and Princess Karen that were stolen by General Gemon. There is always a labyrinth in each stage, and you can collect treasure chests while identifying loops and one-way streets, defeating bosses, and proceeding to the next stage. Defeating enemies and accumulating 100 experience points will raise your class, and growth in maximum HP, recovery medicine, holy water, and attack/stopping magic will also support your strategy.
