How to Play Chiyonofuji no Ooichou
Quick start
If it's your first time, select the promotion mode "Shobu", choose a name and wrestler, and proceed to the main venue. There are 15 matches per place, and the condition for promotion is to keep winning. During the match, keep an eye on the distance between you and your opponent, and when you are far away, move forward or attack, and after you have teamed up, secure your mawashi and use throws, tsuri, and pushes. With SELECT, you can check the strength, legs, speed, weight, and skill of both players. During practice after a location, select weak abilities, strengthen them, and move on to the next location. Please be sure to write down the password for the sumo article that will be displayed at the end of the event. If you want to learn the operations, you can first check the technique name and command in practice mode.
Controls
Menu: Select with the cross button, confirm with A. When entering a password, use the cross button to select a character, press A to enter, and press B to go back one character. During a match, use the cross button and A/B combination to perform a move, and if you are a wrestler on the left, use the opponent's direction + B to perform a mawashi (on the right, left and right are reversed). SELECT displays the ability data of both wrestlers/returns to the match. During practice, for chanko, press the cross button repeatedly, for gun push, press A and B alternately, and for bag removal, move by pressing left and right on the cross button. START's in-game functions are not listed because they cannot be confirmed in the original manual.
Chiyonofuji no Ooichou — About this game
"Chiyonofuji no Daiiginkou" is a sumo action game where you train new wrestlers to win the main tournament. In promotion mode, players compete in 15 matches in one place, accumulate wins, and aim for yokozuna from makuuchi. After the event, they choose to practice and strengthen their abilities such as arm strength, legs, speed, body weight, and sharpness of technique. In a match, there is not only forward movement and punching, but also attacks and defenses in which you try to take advantage of your opponent and aim for throws and hooks, and the techniques you can use change depending on the situation. In addition to promotions, there is also a battle mode where five wrestlers compete for points, and a practice mode where you check out their techniques and operations. If you record the password, you can resume training from the middle.
