How to Play Comix Zone
Quick start
Press START, open Options first and note which of the four GBA control presets is selected, then begin Episode 1, Night of the Mutants. In the first panel, vary the D-pad direction while attacking so Sketch mixes punches and kicks; repeated identical attacks are easier for enemies to block. Pick up Roadkill and the nearby items, then move to the page edge to enter the next panel. Use Roadkill near suspicious gaps to reveal hidden objects, save healing drinks until health is meaningfully low, and remember that tearing a paper aeroplane from the page costs health.
Controls
The D-pad moves, crouches and changes the punch or kick produced with the Action button. Under the default GBA preset, B is Action and A jumps; L quickly selects/uses an inventory item according to the held D-pad direction, and R performs the custom move selected in Options. START pauses. Press Down over an object to pick it up, push by walking into it, and jump beneath a pipe or ledge to hang. The game offers four predefined layouts, so confirm the displayed assignment in Options if a different preset is active.
