Crossword DS + Sekai 1-shuu Cross offers ordinary grids, larger Monster Cross puzzles and a world-tour mode built around places. Read an across or down clue, enter an answer and use its crossing characters to narrow the next word. Start with a smaller grid so you can learn handwriting recognition before moving to a larger puzzle. Check that each written character was recognized as intended; correcting an input error is different from changing an answer. World-tour questions add location knowledge to the usual word deductions.
