How to Play Crystalis
Quick start
Choose Start, enter a name and leave the awakening cave for Leaf. Speak with the man in the upper-right house to receive money, then buy the Tanned Hide at the armor shop. Visit the elder in the upper-left house for the Sword of Wind. Equip the sword through SELECT before heading north to Wind Valley to gain experience.
Controls
D-pad: move. A: talk, read signs, open chests or use an equipped spell/tool; with Rabbit Boots equipped, A jumps. B: swing the sword; hold and release for a charged shot. SELECT: item and equipment selection. START: status screen. In menus, A confirms and B cancels.
Crystalis — About this game
Fight enemies to gain experience and money, then improve your protection and learn which sword suits the obstacle ahead. Holding the attack button prepares an elemental shot; sword upgrades expand its power and its uses outside combat. Magic and supplies support the journey, while towns provide shops, information and recovery. This handheld adventure follows its own presentation of the story and begins near the village of Leaf.
