How to Play David Beckham Soccer
Quick start
Press START and choose Train with Beckham before entering a full competition. Use the passing, shooting, corner and free-kick drills to learn how long button presses change power, then start a Friendly match with a familiar team. Move into open space before passing because the opposition intercepts careless straight balls; use short passes to approach the box and hold the shot button only as long as needed. Once comfortable, choose a league season, cup or knockout competition and review formation and substitutions before kick-off.
Controls
The D-pad moves the selected player, aims passes and shots, and navigates menus. A makes a short pass in possession and a standing tackle while defending; B shoots or clears when attacking and performs the stronger defensive action without the ball. Hold the action button longer for more power where a gauge appears. L switches the controlled player, R sprints, and START pauses for tactics, formation and substitutions. Menus use A to confirm and B to go back; set plays use the D-pad to aim and the displayed action button to kick.
