How to Play Days of Thunder
Quick start
Press A to accelerate, steer with Left and Right, and use B to brake. Learn the circuit during qualifying instead of holding full throttle through every bend. When fuel, tires, or damage demand service, hold B while steering left into pit lane. In the pit, use the D-pad to position a crew member, A to perform the selected job, B to switch crew members, then Start to leave.
Controls
Race: Left/Right steer, A accelerates, B brakes. Enter pit road by holding B and Left at the entrance. Pit stop: D-pad moves the active crew member, A performs the service action, B changes crew member, Start exits pit road when servicing is complete.
Days of Thunder — About this game
Days of Thunder turns Cole Trickle’s NASCAR story into an eight-race NES season. You first qualify against the clock, then race through traffic while watching fuel, tire wear, and damage. Pit stops are not automatic: after steering onto pit road, you directly move crew members between the car’s service points and perform each job before returning to the track. Clean laps, timely braking, and an efficient crew routine matter as much as outright speed.
