How to Play Dead Zone

Quick start

After starting, use the cross button to move the cursor to the command and press A to confirm. If there are 7 or more instructions, press B to switch to the next page, so be sure to check both pages from the beginning. At the disposal site, we carefully examine the objects and locations on the screen using ``look'' and re-examine objects that are likely to have a different reaction by changing the viewpoint or command. Select "Use" the items you have obtained, and proceed with the immediate goal of restoring Carry's battery while breaking through the closed area. After making a decision, you can return by pressing START before selecting the target.

Controls

Cross button: Move the cursor. A: Determine command and target. B: Switch command pages when there are 7 or more commands. START: Cancel and return to the determined command before executing it (actions that have already been executed cannot be undone). SELECT is not used.

Dead Zone — About this game

"Dead Zone" is a command-selectable adventure for the Famicom Disk System set in the space colony "Lionex." The main character, Kirk, wakes up in a waste disposal site and searches for his fiancée Marie, who has been kidnapped. The basic idea is to select commands such as ``look'', ``move'', ``take'', and ``use'' on the screen, specify the object, and change the situation. The story is colored by light conversations with Carry, a robot who fixes the battery and joins you, and synthesized voices, and the key to success is observational skills such as investigating the same place multiple times, switching viewpoints, and using items you pick up in the right place.
