How to Play Deja Vu I & II: The Casebooks of Ace Harding
Quick start
Start a new game with the first case. In the bathroom stall, TAKE the coat hanging on the door and the gun underneath it. OPEN the coat, collect the useful contents and examine the wallet; OPEN it to inspect its money, key and card. OPEN the stall door and use MOVE to leave. Read descriptions before discarding objects, and select the on-screen SAVE icon to keep your progress.
Controls
D-pad moves the pointer or chooses commands. A selects a command, object or destination; B cancels the selected command. START returns the pointer to the middle of the game screen; SELECT is unused. Choose a command and then its target with A. OPEN containers before taking their contents, use SELF for actions on Ace, and save through the on-screen SAVE icon.
Deja Vu I & II: The Casebooks of Ace Harding — About this game
Inspect rooms, open containers and take clues into an inventory that also stores notes and known addresses. Commands let Ace talk, move, use tools or apply something to himself through SELF. Finding an object is only the beginning: its description and contents can connect one location to another. The on-screen SAVE icon records progress, allowing the two mysteries to unfold through deliberate investigation.
