Quick start
Begin the school introduction and follow the first destination. Learn movement and a basic attack in the opening battle, then inspect the party and support options. Keep allies with different strengths available and practice one encounter before changing the setup.
Controls
Use the DS directional and action inputs shown in the battle tutorial to move, jump and attack. Select a party change or available support through its displayed control, checking the effect before spending it. Menus handle character setup and equipment; do not substitute a later remake's controls.

The original Cross of Venus moves from its school framing into adventures involving different novel worlds. Read the current objective before selecting a destination, then learn how movement and attacks work in the action battles. Characters and support choices are useful for their roles, not simply their familiarity from a book cover. Begin with a manageable formation, watch what happens when a support is used and adapt after an encounter. Keep distance from a threat while deciding rather than repeatedly attacking into the same danger. Explore the story and strengthen the setup between fights. This is the original DS release, so features from Cross of Venus Special should not be assumed to be present.
