How to Play Destination Earthstar
Quick start
In the cockpit, steer with the D-pad and fire the selected gun with A. Press START to choose a weapon; hold B+Up to accelerate and continue holding for hyperspace, then B+Down to slow or exit. Clear every fighter before entering the base. During the side-scrolling raid, A fires forward and B fires backward, so stay near mid-screen and watch both edges. Save stronger weapons for the base boss.
Controls
Star-system phase: D-pad steers, A fires, START switches weapons, B+Up speeds up or enters hyperspace, B+Down slows or exits hyperspace, SELECT+B changes view, and A+B pauses. Base phase: D-pad moves in four directions, A fires forward and B fires backward; A+B pauses. Weapon-selection screens use Up/Down for front or rear slots and Left/Right to cycle choices.
Destination Earthstar — About this game
Destination Earthstar is a US NES space shooter with two distinct phases. In each of eight star systems, the EarthShip fights roaming Terrorist craft from a first-person cockpit, using a grid map, multiple forward and rear weapons, speed control and hyperspace. Destroying the fleet allows entry into its Base Station, where play becomes a side-scrolling shooter with forward and backward fire. Clearing the station's defenses and boss opens the next system. Planetary stops and an armory supply upgrades, fuel, weapons and extra lives along the journey home.
