How to Play Dig Dug
Quick start
Immediately after starting, do not dig straight down, but create sideways and escape routes to pick up enemies one by one. Once you have stabbed an enemy with a harpoon, press A or B repeatedly to inflate it, and if another enemy is nearby, move away halfway to get some distance. Before digging directly under the rock, check the direction of fall and the escape route, and guide the pursuing enemies to the bottom of the rock. It is safe to approach Fieger from above and below, avoiding the flames and not lining up in a long line.
Controls
Cross button: Move up/down/left/right and dig a passage in the soil. A button/B button: Fires a pump with a harpoon in the direction you are facing. After stabbing an enemy, press the same button repeatedly to send air and explode. START: Game start and pause/resume. SELECT: Select for 1 person or 2 people. For two players, the game is played alternately rather than simultaneously, and the 2P side has the same operations.
Dig Dug — About this game
"Dig Dug" is a fixed-screen action game in which you control the main character Dig Dug, digging a passage into the soil and defeating all Pookas and Fiegers in each round. Stab a pump with a harpoon on an enemy and press the button repeatedly to inflate it and it will explode. Also, if you dig the soil under the rock and make it fall, you can defeat multiple enemies at once and aim for a high score. Fieger spits flames sideways, and enemies sometimes chase through the dirt with only eyes visible. When you defeat two enemies, a vegetable target will appear in the center, so creating a safe passage and guiding with rocks is the key to scoring points.
