How to Play Dinosaur King
Quick start
Choose Max or Rex and follow the first fossil-search instructions. Use the radar and digging tool where indicated, take a useful fossil back for cleaning and carefully uncover it. In the next battle, select a rock, paper or scissors icon after considering the opponent's cue.
Controls
Use DS direction and menus for exploration, radar and digging. During cleaning, chip the covering rock with the stylus and follow the microphone prompt to clear dust. Battle choices appear as rock, paper and scissors icons on the touch screen; choose one and watch the result before the next turn.
Dinosaur King — About this game
Sega's Dinosaur King combines exploration and fossil preparation with dinosaur battles. A radar helps locate a find, but the fossil then needs careful work before it joins your collection. Learn the cleaning tools and avoid wasting the limited pick on careless marks. In combat, rock, paper and scissors are actual move categories, with special attacks making the choice more than a random picture tap. Read the opponent's hints and your available moves before committing. Begin with the first search and battle, then return to supplies and the team before traveling farther. This is distinct from Taito's Dino King Battle and from Dino Master's territory-cutting excavation.
