How to Play DiRT 2
Quick start
Choose a starter vehicle and an early solo event. Learn acceleration and braking on the first straight, then slow before a corner and accelerate as the exit opens. Complete a clean run before pushing for a faster time, and compare one mistake with the next attempt.
Controls
Use the DS directional control to steer and the displayed accelerate and brake inputs for speed. Make small steering corrections rather than holding a turn after the car is aligned. Read the event's reset or recovery prompt when off the route, and use menus for vehicle and event selection.
DiRT 2 — About this game
DiRT 2 brings off-road driving events to the handheld with its own vehicles, routes and control feel. Start an early solo event and learn how much braking the first corner needs before chasing a time. Loose surfaces reward a controlled approach: overcorrecting after the car is already aligned can turn one small slide into another. Look toward the exit, keep the route in view and choose speed you can recover from. Compare a clean run with a faster but collision-filled attempt to decide where time is actually lost. Menus let you move between available events and vehicles. This is the DS racing game, so the PC and large-console editions' feature lists and inputs should not be copied across.
