Quick start
Choose a game mode and read its input or hint options. Watch the first danger, respond once at the correct moment and learn the successful sequence before the next scene. If Dirk fails, use the animation to identify whether the direction or timing was wrong.
Controls
Use the DS directional pad for the required direction and the selected action input for Dirk's sword. Follow the current control setup or hint icons. Each scene expects a timed reaction; holding a direction does not provide free movement through the animated room.

Dragon's Lair presents an interactive cartoon in which a timed direction or sword action determines Dirk's response to each danger. Watch the scene for an opening and learn the sequence that carries him past traps and enemies toward Daphne. A failure is useful information about the next attempt: change the wrong reaction or its timing rather than press every input together. The challenge comes from reading and remembering animated events, not continuous platform movement. Begin with the opening tutorial and practice the main interaction before pursuing optional rewards. Read the current objective, make one deliberate choice and watch its effect before repeating it. A short first session makes it easier to separate a missed instruction from a difficult challenge. Return to the available menu when you need to check progress or adjust your approach, then continue from the next clear objective.
