Quick start
Follow the opening party tutorial and enter an early encounter. Choose a basic attack, learn the timing of the defensive prompt and inspect the result. Check HP, skill costs and equipment before traveling farther, then try a coordinated ability once you understand each member's role.
Controls
Use the DS directional and confirmation controls to navigate the field and choose battle commands. Read the target and cost before confirming a skill. During enemy attacks, press the displayed Active Guard input at the indicated moment; exploration movement and timed defense are separate actions.

Attack of the Saiyans is a party RPG rather than a one-on-one fighting game. Explore areas, equip the group and choose attacks or skills in turn-based encounters leading toward the Saiyan conflict. Active Guard adds timing to enemy attacks: a successful defensive input can reduce the damage your characters take. Manage health and energy between battles, and consider the different members' skills before committing to a stronger coordinated technique. A small early encounter is the best place to learn the command flow before a boss tests the whole party.
